DAWN's Social Services Program shall serve as point of entry in reaching out to distressed women migrants and their children. It shall address their immediate and/or short-term needs. In a way, it provides for them a line of hope as they decide to take the long road back to rebuilding their lives. It is understood that DAWN does not necessarily have to directly provide all the necessary services. Accessing other social service providers along identified program areas is integral to its Social Services Program.
• Case management
The circumstances of the women and children shall be properly documented for appropriate support interventions. Developments shall be closely monitored to ensure effectiveness of empowerment processes. This would include home visits, follow-up interviews, school visits, etc.
• Airport/Travel assistance
DAWN shall provide assistance to women and children in facilitating the necessary travel to and/or from another OFW host countries under compelling circumstances.
• Temporary shelter
DAWN shall provide temporary shelter to migrant women (returning and returned) and their children's cases where their immediate circumstances pose threats to their lives or aggravate their already distressed situations. In absence of a temporary shelter, DAWN shall refer the women and/or their children to existing temporary shelters.
• Counseling
Competent and appropriate counseling interventions shall be undertaken with the women and their children. The effective management of each case shall rely heavily on the soundness of the counseling sessions.
• Educational assistance
DAWN shall assist women members of failed cross-cultural relations/marriages who may not yet be fully financially independent, in supporting the educational requirements of their children.
DAWN shall also encourage such women to finish their schooling or pursue technical/vocational education in order to improve their skills.
• Health assistance
DAWN shall assist women or their children have access to health care services.
• Legal and paralegal assistance
DAWN shall assist women or their children have access to legal and paralegal services
• Therapeutic workshops
DAWN shall conduct workshops for its women and their children.
